Schlötter, one of Germany’s leading specialists in electroplating technology, is deeply committed to this guiding principle. The company’s core competencies include the development of electrolytes for electroplating applications, the production of electroplating chemicals, and the design and construction of electroplating systems.
With a portfolio of around 1,000 chemical products covering cathodic corrosion protection, decorative coating systems, plastic metallization, hydrogen technologies, as well as electronics and printed circuit boards, Schlötter operates successfully in numerous sectors worldwide. Research and development have traditionally played a key role at Schlötter, and innovation is firmly embedded in the company’s DNA — reflected in numerous development projects dedicated to a sustainable future.
In particular, the development of catalytically active surface coatings for all types of water electrolysis is the focus of many projects at Schlötter. A prominent example is the company’s participation in the BMBF-funded joint research project AEM-Direkt, in collaboration with leading research institutions and international companies, aimed at developing high-performance, cost-effective anion exchange membrane (AEM) electrolyzers.
Through the metallic coating of membranes, electrodes, and other electrolyzer and fuel cell components, as well as the development of production-ready processes, Schlötter continuously demonstrates the performance capabilities of modern electroplating technology — especially in the field of green hydrogen technologies.
