At ReiCat, we develop catalytic exhaust air and gas treatment systems that enable the cost-efficient production and reuse of technical gases and the emission of clean exhaust air.
We are determined to contribute to a more sustainable industry and energy sector with “Hightech made in Europe”.
ReiCat’s innovative, patented processes are used in the growth markets of green hydrogen, CO2 management, circular economy, and exhaust air technology. 600 systems represent ReiCat in 60 countries worldwide. Our customers include all leading gas producers and companies from the chemical, metal processing, food production, and energy industries.
The owner-managed company based in Gelnhausen, Germany, was founded in 1982 (initially called IPA Gastechnik GmbH). Dipl.-Ing. Michael Höfling has served as Managing Director since 2002. In 2022, the subsidiary ReiCat Solutions S.r.l. was established in Bologna, Italy.
Committed to continuous innovation and development, we constantly develop new processes & catalyst technologies in our technical center. Supported by highly specialized, certified assembly partners, the systems are manufactured and shipped worldwide.

Efficient Hydrogen Purification
Our purification systems remove impurities and moisture from hydrogen through a combination of ReiCat Catalyst Technology and other processes. We supply turnkey solutions for the purification of green, blue, and gray H₂.
Our systems guarantee a gas quality of 5.0 / > 99.999 % or more. This purity level is a prerequisite for transportation, storage, and most applications of H₂. Our systems comply with SAE J2719 for hydrogen in mobile applications.
Building on decades of experience, we guarantee maximum efficiency and reliability. We offer plants in various size categories and have particular expertise in the construction of large-scale plants.
Innovative oxygen purification
By combining innovative ReiCat Catalyst Technology with other process engineering technologies and mechanical processes, e.g., TSA dryers, our systems purify oxygen to a quality of 5.0 / > 99.999 % or, if required, to 6.0 / > 99.9999 %.
Thanks to closed loops, the ReiCat Closed Loop Technology, our long-lasting systems remove impurities with maximum energy efficiency and minimum losses.
They are ideally suited for industrial oxygen production, e.g., through water electrolysis in Power-to-X systems. Building on 40 years of experience, our products stand for reliability, maximum availability, and low maintenance requirements.

Sustainable hydrogen recycling
If hydrogen is used in large quantities in your production and is not consumed but merely contaminated, a ReiCat H₂ recycling system could offer enormous cost savings.
Our hydrogen recycling systems use advanced technologies to efficiently recover up to 98 % of the hydrogen from the waste gas produced. Thus, you can achieve a positive ROI within a few months. By recycling gas, you become independent of external gas supplies and use state-of-the-art climate technology to reap the benefits of the circular economy.
Our recycling systems are designed to adapt to the unique requirements of your operating processes. Gas recycling can be applied within continuous and discontinuous systems (batch operation). Our systems can process up to 20,000 Nm³/h of hydrogen.

DeHydro - A smarter and safer way to vent hydrogen
The Reicat DeHydro is a catalytic system that prevents flammable hydrogen from being released into the atmosphere, offering a safe alternative to conventional venting or flaring.
It employs catalytic oxidation in which hydrogen reacts with oxygen over a catalyst bed, converting H2 into water vapor (H2O) without combustion or flame formation. The system operates using ambient air and does not require a dedicated oxygen supply.

HO meter - quality and safety technology
Our HO meter is a safety device that prevents the formation of explosive gas mixtures. It can measure hydrogen or oxygen contenct whithin hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, noble gas, inert gas, and gas mixtures.
